PinoyBlogoSphere.com - Katorse Shorts
June 7, 2008
For too long, short films have remained the forgotten art form; a consistently underrated medium that has never been given the exposure it demands. Even with the emerging popularity of independent films in the Philippines, short films are still seen as “front acts” for full-length features or “sidebars” at local film festivals.

PinoyBlogoSphere.com - Max Mosley’s Sex Scandal!
June 7, 2008
Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo calls for Max Mosley to quit as chief of motor racing’s
world governing body in light of his involvement in a sex scandal!
It kind of reminded me about the sex scandals involved the World Bank President and a former state lawmaker.
And I kid you not!
Much thanks for looking, everyone!

PinoyBlogoSphere.com - NBI ID Card - de facto National ID
June 7, 2008
The NBI ID Card is now the most recommended and honoured Identification Card in the Philippines, with banks leading this “practice”, making it a de facto National ID. What is this NBI ID Card anyway? Is it really the National ID in practice? Will it become the National ID by law? Is it ready?

PinoyBlogoSphere.com - Plurk!
June 7, 2008
Twitter’s been down lately. Anyone with an account at the service will know that. The Web’s been abuzz with rants about the downtime, and while Pownce and Jaiku users have taken this opportunity to invite people to switch, Twitterers still can’t find a better service.
Until Plurk came along.
Yes, Plurk. It’s taking the Interwebs by storm and becoming a serious alternative to Twitter. How can it not be, what with its name (Plurk! Plurk! Plurk! I could say it all day), the funny headless pig cartoon, and the cool features that come with it. Many Plurkers (I guess that’s what we’re called) have been asking the questions: Is Plurk a viable alternative to Twitter and are you going back to Twitter or leaving it for good? In this post, I’ll explore the answers to those questions, so follow along!

PinoyBlogoSphere.com - NBA Finals
June 7, 2008
NBA Finals starts earlier this morning with the celtics taking game 1 lead series 1-0.
Kobe Bryant will try to redeem himself to lead the Los Angeles Lakers for another possible championship, taking a look back from the Detroit Series in 2004 why the HECK they loss in that series? Detroit didn’t even win another championship after that!
Anyway, Finals starts earlier, sports and basketball fans will witness another classic match-up, rematch of Celtics-Lakers rivalry as their legacy continues, the most Winn ingest basketball clubs in history of the NBA. Who do you think will win the series? I’m a Laker fan; I can answer that at my sleep. L.A.K.E.R.S ! ! ! Of course, do not under estimate the Celtics, they have the best record at the regular season and they were favored to win the championship as early as the start of the season because of their so called big three in Garnett, Pierce and Allen. Maybe the lack of experience will be their weakness? Bryant and Fisher are the only members left of the 3peat in ‘00, ‘01 and ‘02 so basically they lack of experience too.
So where do we go with this?
It’s easy to focus on the Celtics, with their fabulous trio and homecourt advantage.
But Bryant is the MVP. With three rings already in his pocket from 2000-02 with Fisher, Jackson and Shaquille O’Neal on the Lakers, Bryant is on a mission to carve out his own dynasty as a leader. The Lakers are 12-3 in the playoffs, with Bryant averaging 31.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.3 steals. The presence of Fisher, the addition of Gasol and the growth of Odom have helped him grow from not taking any shots or taking all the shots, to feeling his way through games while incorporating everyone else.
At 29, he’s in his prime and with Bynum’s surgery a success, this will the first of what is likely to be several more titles as he has finally established himself as one of the NBA’s all-time greats.

PinoyBlogoSphere.com - Ubuntu User Review of the Day
June 7, 2008
I have read a lot of reviews from different products from different people. Some are very informative while some are pretty biased but from time to time, you’ll find something that will make you smile. Now keep in mind that this is an actual review from a user of Amazon.com about Ubuntu.

PinoyBlogoSphere.com - FUNctional
June 6, 2008
I have always been obsessive compulsive. One of the quirks I have as a result of that is my inability to write effectively if I happen to be writing on coarse paper using a Panda ballpen. You must now be shaking your head in disbelief but I swear I have two other friends who are like me (in an expression of feigned ignorance).
So when I was in school, I always begged my mom to buy me Corona notebooks. I would smell the crisp and smooth pages and I would be in heaven. I am also quite addicted to fine point pens and the PILOT brand is my best friend.

PinoyBlogoSphere.com - Giving birth to a new blog!
June 6, 2008
It is ironic that I stopped blogging at Viewpoint because I could not maintain it. However, I just launched a new blog called LARAWANG PINOY for my Flickr group Larawang Pinoy. Let us just say, LP, as we fondly call it is fast growing and the chances that it would be viewed at least 670 per week would not be bad.
However, it is not only the readership that was considered. First and foremost, the main objective of Larawang Pinoy Blog is to feature amateur photographers who are experts in their own right.
Gracing the launch of the LP blog is a feature on Von Punzalan, who bagged the Aliwan Fiesta 2008 Photo Contest. He bested 1490 entries. He only had 7 lucky entries.

PinoyBlogoSphere.com - Realization
June 6, 2008
Yesterday, we (together with my mom and Floyd again) went to Las Piñas Lying in Center. I’m not really sure why of all places but I think we need a referral letter from one of the doctors there in order for us to use my mom’s green card. Well, a green card is somewhat similar to philhealth/medicare, which can give us up to PHP25,000 (I think). It’ll be a great help definitely.
We arrived there around 8 in the morning and it opened up around 9:30. Honestly, I was really irritated from the start since I know Lying Ins are for pregnant women - I’m not even pregnant and what worse is that I’m sick. Plus, I thought that they will check me up again but it turned out that all we really need is their signatures! :b-boiling:
When we entered the doctors area and when my mom told them what we need, the doctors and the staff got a little confused (I’m not really sure what happened!) and somewhat the transaction (or what ever you call it) got messed up. Since I was kind of irritated from the beginning I threw out a tantrum (I don’t really know why I did that) and then a woman doctor suprisingly said to me in such a negative/sarcastic tone (in front of everyone): Hija, pipirmahan naman namin yan kaya wag ka nang sumimangot. Kahapon ka pa nakasimangot! (Hey! We will sign that so stop frowning! You have that kind of face since yesterday.) (@_@) Of course, I quiet down, I was shocked! Read the rest of this entry here »
